A 26-year-old woman participating in a Home Guard recruitment drive in Gaya district of Bihar has alleged that she was gang-r**ed inside an ambulance while being transported to a hospital after collapsing during a physical test.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday at the Military Police Grounds in Bodh Gaya. The woman reportedly fainted while undergoing a physical endurance test — part of the standard selection process. Organizers promptly arranged for her to be taken to a nearby hospital via an on-site ambulance.
The woman later alleged that she was se**ually assaulted by multiple individuals inside the moving ambulance while she was unconscious. Following her complaint, an FIR was registered at the Bodh Gaya Police Station.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was immediately constituted, and a forensic team was deployed to aid the probe. Within hours of the FIR, two suspects were arrested — the ambulance driver, Vinay Kumar, and the onboard technician Ajit Kumar. Both are currently in police custody and undergoing interrogation.
Officials stated that CCTV footage has helped establish the vehicle’s route and timeline, providing critical evidence in the ongoing investigation. Further updates are awaited.
