Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited the landslide -affected areas of Wayanad district, Kerala walking through the devastated region to access the damage. Earlier, the prime minister conducted an aerial survey of the devastated areas of Chooralmala, Mundakkai and Punchirimattam hamlets abroad and IAF helicopter.
The prime minister also interacted with rescue personnel and state government officials. At least 226 people died and many more remain unaccounted for after landslides hit the region on July 30. It is one of the biggest natural disasters to have impacted the State.
