Atishi Marlena is going to be the next Chief Minister of Delhi. The decision was taken in a meeting of the AAP leadership on Tuesday, two days after Aravind Kejriwal said he would resign from the top post.
According to sources, there would be no Deputy Chief Minister and Marlena would take oath during a special Assembly session to be held on September 26-27.
An Oxford University alumnus and a Rhodes Scholar, Marlena is considered close to Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish. Apart from being the only woman minister in the Delhi Government, she is also in charge of key portfolios like education, finance public works department revenue and services.
