Former US President Donald Trump will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week during his visit to the US. The Republican Presidential candidate made the announcement while campaigning in Michigan. Though he called Modi a fantastic man, Trump mentioned India as a very big abuser of trade ties.
PM Modi and Trump last met in February 2020 when the US President visited India. Modi described Trump’s visit as path breaking in strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
PM Modi will visit the US with a three day program starting on September 21. He will address the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly in New York and take part in the Quad Leaders’ Summit hosted by President Joe Biden. PM Modi will also address a gathering of the Indian community in New York and interact with the CEOs of leading US-based companies to foster collaboration between the two countries in various cutting edge technologies.
