Kerala: Elephant Attacks A Man at Festival, Several Injured, Watch Video

The elephant attack at the Puthiyangadi festival in Malappuram district of Kerala, on Tuesday night that has left around 17 people injured. Out of seventeen, one was critically injured.

The incident occurred during a traditional festival in Tirur, where around five elephants were part of the celebrations, each adorned with golden plates. One of the elephants, agitated despite efforts from its mahout to control it, began attacking the crowd.

The scene quickly turned chaotic, as people ran to escape from the elephant, leading to a stampede-like situation. Though some people tried to control the elephant using chains, but it took nearly two hours for the authorities to bring the situation under control.

According to some reports, the critically injured person is currently being treated at nearby hospital. The entire incident was captured on video.
