The devastating wildfires that swept through Los Angeles on Wednesday have caused widespread destruction, with nearly 25,000 acres of property affected. Reportedly, at least five people have lost their lives in the incident, and emergency services continue to battle the fires.

As of Wednesday afternoon, around 1.5 million customers in Los Angeles County were without power, according to Nicole Nishida, spokeswoman for both the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Power Outage Department.

Joe Biden expressed his support for the region, tweeting “Over 100,000 people have been ordered to evacuate communities impacted by the Southern California wildfires. At least two people have been killed. And many more are injured – including firefighters. It’s devastating. To the residents of Southern California: We are with you.”

Among the fires, the Eaton Fire, located miles away from the Palisades Fire in Altadena, has burned over 2,200 acres, with no containment reported so far. Additionally, the Hurst Fire, which started northeast of San Fernando, has scorched at least 500 acres.

According to some reports, the authorities are working relentlessly to control the fires and mitigate the damage to communities and wildlife in the affected areas.
