Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day official visit to the United Kingdom aimed at deepening bilateral ties. The centerpiece of the visit is the anticipated signing of the long-awaited India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which has been under negotiation for three years.

The FTA is expected to eliminate tariffs on 99% of Indian exports to the UK and reduce tariffs on 90% of British goods, including key products like whisky and automobiles. The agreement is projected to double bilateral trade by 2030 from the current level of $60 billion.

During the visit, PM Modi will also engage in comprehensive discussions with his UK counterpart, focusing on the full spectrum of India-UK relations and pressing regional and global issues.
